Reality Bites: Film Submissions
The acquisition and exhibition of “original content”
provided by YOU, the public, is the raison d’etre of Reality
Bites.
We recognize that today, with the ubiquity of digital camcorders
and desktop video editing solutions, almost everyone has the ability
to become a filmmaker. Unfortunately, available outlets for the
public exhibition of work has not kept pace with the proliferation
of worthy content.
Reality Bites intends to do its part to rectify this disequilibrium.
Indeed, our main plasma screen will be reserved for original work
that can’t be seen elsewhere. Who knows? With the clientele
Reality Bites intends to draw, both locally and beyond, there’s
no telling who might stumble upon your work.
Unlike our films for rent, original content will not be
limited to documentaries. Short narrative shows, works-in-progress,
animated, and experimental efforts will all be considered. From
established auteurs wishing to gauge audience reaction to their
latest rough cuts, to dabblers with cute personal pieces, Reality
Bites will offer a cool, comfortable environment to feature your
efforts.
Submission Methodology and Policy
-
Get a screener of your work(s) to Reality Bites. See the contact
page to find out how to reach us.
-
Be sure to include a content
release form with your submission that will give Reality
Bites the right to exhibit your work
-
After reviewing your show(s), we’ll contact you
-
At this time, the preferred medium for exhibition is “straight
play” DVD; i.e. no menus.
-
Timing (daypart) of exhibition within Reality Bites will be
dictated by the content. For example, short, humorous work may
be most appropriate for daytime hours. Long-form and/or shows
with more mature themes may be most appropriate for evening
exhibition.
-
Worthy content may be programmed into our screening schedule,
affording film makers and the public an opportunity to make
plans to attend.
In sum, Reality Bites was designed to be, in effect, your public
screening room. We hope you take advantage of the forum Reality
Bites provides. |
